メッセージ
感染症の最大の犠牲者は子ども達です。つい最近まで世界中で5歳のお誕生日を迎えることなく命を失う子ども達が年間一千万人もいて,その3分の2は感染症で亡くなっています。その中にはワクチンさえあれば助かる命が二百数十万人も含まれているのです。また母親が感染し,母子感染によって子ども達にも被害が及ぶものもありますが,妊婦健診とそれに続く適切な管理によって防ぐことが出来る母子感染もたくさんあります。小児科医の立場から,そうした母子の被害・悲劇を防ぐために何を為すべきか,皆さんに訴え一緒に考えて行ければと思います。
