TMGH 3 Policies

Admission Policy

TMGH selects students who will contribute to solving challenges in global health and those who possess the following qualifications;

1. A willingness to contribute to world peace and the promotion of health.

2. Dignity and intelligence

    (such as the ability to communicate in English, multicultural adaptation cooperativeness and leadership). 
3. An ability to regularly study and think independently.
4. A good command of a foreign language with communication skills.
5. Having acquired fundamental knowledge of global health that is equivalent to the undergraduate level.
6. A Strong interest in global health, international cooperation and a willingness to work in these areas.

Curriculum Policy

TMGH’s curriculum encompasses basic knowledge in science and its practical application in the fields of tropical medicine and global health. Students will have a specialization in which they will acquire problem solving skills. Specifically our curriculum will;

1. Build a foundation on global health related subjects.

2. Help students acquire the basic skills and knowledge needed to conduct research and produce their master’s thesis.

3. Contain seven modules (basic tropical medicine, clinical tropical medicine, epidemiology・bio statistics, global environment

  ・hygiene, international community health, social behavioral science, and health policy・management) that constitute

    global health subjects.

4. Assist students from proposal development, implementation of research, up to writing their master’s thesis.

5. Provide appropriate academic support to students through tutorials and supplementary lectures.

Diploma Policy

We aim to nurture human resources with a global perspective and professionals who can contribute to the health and happiness of people around the world. The following four aspects summarize the key capabilities of students once they fulfill the requirements of a master’s degree at TMGH. 

1. Expertise 

    Students develop skills and expertise in tropical medicine, global health, and health innovation and have the capacity to

    use them.

2. Communication and Teamwork

     Students have broad and fundamental knowledge allowing them to communicate with various professionals in English in

     order to solve global health challenges.

3. Professionalism

     Students will have the knowledge, skills, professionalism, and fortitude of being highly advanced professionals who

     contribute to the betterment of global health.

4. Leadership and Teamwork

    Students possess the aforementioned capabilities as well as demonstrate leadership and teamwork qualities to fulfill their

    responsibility as members of an international and integrated team on global health.
